Langley City is developing a Public Parking Strategy to improve parking in the city and prepare for future growth.
This strategy will guide public parking in Langley City, ensuring that residents, workers, businesses and visitors have fair and dependable access to parking options.
Through a survey in February 2025, we heard from over 240 residents about their parking experience in residential areas. Based on survey results and work completed in early 2025, we have found that:
- On-street parking is unregulated (i.e., not managed) in residential areas with no restrictions on who can park their vehicle and for how long.
- Unless otherwise posted by signage, City bylaw restricts vehicles from parking on-street for longer than 72 consecutive hours (three days).
- Street parking in some residential areas in Langley City is in high demand from residents and their visitors, particularly during weekday evenings and weekends.
This survey is important because managing street parking can improve the reliability of finding available parking for residents and visitors.
Public on-street parking in some residential areas in Langley City is in high demand from residents and their visitors, particularly during the evenings on weekdays and weekends.
We’re seeking input from residents living in the Nicomekl and Douglas neighbourhoods, with a focus on the Brydon Park area and the Michaud Crescent area, on how to better address the demand for on-street parking in residential areas.
